I am Elnaz Namdari Ghareghani, one of the IAESTE Committee’s accepted students for a three-month internship in Germany, in the summer of 2018. I did my internship at the University of Bayreuth, department of Disturbance Ecology. This scientific trip to the city of Bayreuth, Germany was one of the best travels of twenty-seven years of my life. I gained a lot of valuable experiences on this journey, and I met a lot of new people who were very helpful to me. I also got acquainted with Germany’s history and culture. And I was successful in transferring my country’s culture to the German people, and they were also very interested in hearing about the Iran’s culture.
scientifically, at the University of Bayreuth, department of Disturbance Ecology I gained a good, valuable and practical scientific experiences. And in fact windows of hope for my life were opened. In the university of Bayreuth we were practicing, there were a lot of good and trusted people, and we were all in safety. I involved in field work for several different field experiments across Germany about ecosystem function and climate change. One of my main tasks was to process and weigh plant biomass data from several experiments.
It was a great opportunity to visit Germany and working in another University besides foreigner students from all over the world. I also thank the department of Disturbance Ecology for relying on me and let me to joining their team. The IAESTE Committee of both countries (Iran and Germany) provided valuable assistance both before and after the trip for accepted students. And I also thank the IAESTE Committee for all their helps.
